DIY Tricks and jigs installing tongue and groove pine board by yourself |
Finally I am in the process of finishing the cabin interior. The material of choice for the wall and ceiling is tongue and groove boards. I like the knotty pine board and I know it will work well with my design. However, most of the 1x6" board are either crowned or bowed some way or the other. It is extremely difficult to install not to mention I will have to install them myself. But fear not my friend, I have invented this cheap, simple and easy jig to help with the installation. Works like a charm, it should help you if you are in the similar situation. You can find all the detail on this video I made that document my work and design. I am also sharing with you my tips/tricks.
Remember use good quality clamps when building the jig. It will make your life easier. I use the free Harbor Freight clamps, and they are junks. you should use better one. I recommend Irwin Quick Clamp 12" seems perfect for the purpose. https://amzn.to/2oi9CsD
